Bernhard Mathias Brekke (1887-1972) started working in the company in 1909, becoming a partner in 1914 after having worked for 4 years in London, Hamburg and Paris. He stayed in North- and South America 1917-18, which lead to general agencies, mainly within grocery products for Scandinavia, Holland, Belgium and Germany. The company established branches in Kristiansund, Bergen, Oslo and Hamburg, and employed agents in Holland, Belgium and Germany.
Under his management the company owned a shipping company, Trøndelag Tobakksfabrikk AS, Tommen Gram AS, as well as a large interest in Dyre Halse AS and Tinboden Sildolje & Kraftforfabrik AS.
Bernhd. M. Brekke was a consular agent for USA 1917-21 and Honorary Consul for Estonia from 1921 to 1954. Like his father and his brother Reidar Brekke, he had a great interest in salmon fishing and hunting. This made him establish a hunting- and fishing agency, where he also marketed hunting- and fishing rights abroad.
